Tsinghua University has established 111 various joint scientific research institutions by the end of last year. Its School of Integrated Circuits set up four such cooperative projects with domestic and global companies - Wingtech, Hexin Technology, SK Hynix, and Samsung, according to the official website of Tsinghua University.

On January 7, 2022, the Tsinghua University-Wingtech Joint Research Center on Industrial and Automotive Semiconductor Chips was established. Wingtech Nexperia is the world's leading automotive-grade semiconductor company. It hopes to use Tsinghua University's advantages in scientific research, technological innovation and personnel training to develop more automotive-grade semiconductors.

Tsinghua set up last April the Tsinghua University-Hexin Technology Joint Research Institute on High-end Server Processor Chip with Hexin Tech, a Guangzhou-based CPU design company.

The joint project concentrates on CPU software and hardware architecture and hardware security.

In October 2018, Tsinghua also established a joint research center for intelligent storage computing chips with SK Hynix, the second-largest memory chip supplier from Korea.

The center focused on developing vertical artificial intelligence acceleration solutions integrating hardware, software and applications to achieve technological breakthroughs in AI chips. It develops software, accelerators, near-storage processing, and in-memory computing based on data center server requirements.

In addition, there are also the Tsinghua-Samsung Semiconductor Joint Laboratory set up with Samsung Electronics in May 2013.

Tsinghua University, China's best-known technology university, officially inaugurated the School of Integrated Circuits on April 22, 2021 to bring up keenly needed IC talents.
