Recently, Samsung Electronics announced that it would set up a "6G Research Group" at the Samsung Research Institute (SRUK) in London, UK, to focus on developing 6G network and terminal equipment technology.
Data shows that SRUK, founded in 1996, is Samsung's first R&D center outside South Korea. Its R&D technology covers communication networks, data intelligence, artificial intelligence (AI), security and the Internet of Things.
Samsung Electronics said that this new plan in the UK will become part of Samsung's global 6G development project, which spans multiple overseas research centers. The new research project will be located at the Samsung UK R&D Center in Stearns on the Thames.
It is understood that Samsung Research Institute has 14 R&D centers in 12 countries, including South Korea, the United States and India, which are responsible for 6G vision development and research.
