On November 1, 2022, Micron announced that it is shipping qualified sample partners of its 1beta DRAM technology to selected smartphone manufacturers and chipsets and has achieved mass production readiness through the world's most advanced DRAM technology node.

Micron will ship 1α LPDDR5X DRAM in volume in 2021. The new 1β process DRAM has 15% higher power efficiency than 1α process DRAM and 35% more bits stored in each area, according to officials.

Micron said that with the introduction of LPDDR5X, mobile products will be the first to benefit from 1β DRAM enhancements, improving the performance of the next generation of smartphones while consuming less power.
